You will be involved in a hands-on presentation demonstrating ways of integrating the IWB with group performances, rhythm clapping or note recognition, singing, listening activities and even composition. You will be able to take away free resources to use the very next day as well as be introduced to a brand new product that will change IWB Music lessons forever!
Furthermore, add an iPad to your IWB and your students will love the music, games and projects that will be right at their fingertips.
You can even make your own resources that are animated and engaging.
Please bring your laptops or IOS devices as well as one hand-held percussion instrument."
Levels 1 and 2 2012
The Orff Schulwerk Teacher Certification courses are designed to immerse participants in the Orff approach to teaching music. Devised by Carl Orff, this approach seeks to engender the inherently musical qualities in all people through an active and creative learning process. It applies to all areas of music education, including early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary, studio, therapy or special education. Participants in the certification courses experience this way or learning and teaching first-hand, using the skills and techniques specific to the Orff approach.

Levels 1and 2 will include studies in Movement and Dance, Orchestration and Analysis, Technique and Improvisation, Recorder, Vocal Studies and Pedagogy. Level 1 participants require a descant recorder and Level 2 participants require a treble recorder.
Certification is attained through successfully completing all assessment tasks during the course and attending the required 36 face-to-face hours. It is a requirement that each Level is successfully completed before moving to the next Level.
It is suggested that you purchase the suggested text if you do not already own a copy.

Salzburg’s Andréa Ostertag!! – Sept 2012
Andrea Ostertag comes from Salzburg, Austria where she is one of the Directors of the Orff Institute in Salzburg.
As a music and dance educator, Andrea teaches folk dancing, dancing with children and dance technique at the Orff-Institute in Salzburg and also teaches internationally. In addition, she practices Shiatsu, is a Clown Doctor and performs in an a capella music cabaret group.
At the conclusion of this workshop participants will have the opportunity to partake in an open forum with Andrea.
