Main Presenters: Mark O’Leary (VIC), Susie Davies-Splitter (VIC), Peta Harper (NSW), Sarah Reeve (NSW) and Biddy Seymour (QLD). Together with keynote speaker, Dr. Rosemary Johnston (Professor of Education and Culture at UTS and founding director of the International Research Centre for Youth Futures).

Course Description:

The NSW Orff Schulwerk Association is presenting a Two-Day conference for all teachers of Music. The conference addresses the relevance of ‘Orff’ in the 21st Century, engaging learners, choral practices and repertoire and facilitating improvisation. The keynote speaker is Dr. Rosemary Johnston (Professor of Education and Culture at UTS and founding director of the International Research Centre for Youth Futures). The main workshop presenters are Paul Jarman (multi-instrumentalist, composer and choirmaster NSW), Susie Davies-Splitter (VIC), Peta Harper (NSW), Sarah Reeve (NSW) and Biddy Seymour (QLD). Elective sessions are given by a number of Orff practitioners relating to early childhood, primary and secondary teaching and allow participants to gain skills, encounter new repertoire and ideas in practical and fun settings, relevant to best practice in the classroom.

One Day:

Participants will be asked to nominate afternoon electives after registration has been confirmed, in early April.

Refunds: 80% of the conference fee will be refunded if cancelled before April 5th. No refund will be given after this date.
