Presented by: Katie Wardrobe – midnightmusic.com.au

Simple Ways To Use Technology in the Music Classroom (with or without an IWB)

Come along and discover engaging ways to incorporate technology into your current music activities without having to re-write your curriculum. During this session we’ll look at effective and exciting ways to use technology for composing, graphic notation, teaching music literacy skills, delivering ear training exercises, making soundscapes and managing your students. We will explore a range of free and paid music education software programs and websites including Groovy Music, Morton Subotnik’s Music Academy, Noteflight, Incredibox, Hook Theory and some fun classroom management tools. We will also look at ways you can create a bank of digital learning resources that can be used many times across multiple classes, create reusable units of work, Kodaly song shapes, create melodic and rhythm exercises, listening examples and multimedia music history projects. The resources and activities covered will suit those with an interactive whiteboard as well as those without an IWB.
